Ashcroft Mailing Solutions Ltd are one the largest independent Royal Mail approved suppliers and maintainers of franking machines in the country. All of their sales, service and support are based in the UK and they offer an aftercare and breakdown service that is ‘second to none’.
All of Ashcroft’s franking machines are equipped with the latest technology including Royal Mail’s cheapest franking tariff known as a Mailmark. Mailmark offers savings of up to 35% over stamps and 7% over standard franking formats. As well as the substantial savings to be made, Mailmark also offers these great benefits:
- Free company logo and return address
- Pre-paid envelopes – allowing important documents to be returned to you
- Faster delivery of your post
- Instant text marketing
- LAN or Wi-Fi connectivity
Ashcroft’s team of experts have a combined knowledge of over 40 years in the industry, which results in the most cost effective suitable franking machine being proposed, not just for your needs today, but also taking into account how your organisation will change, and hopefully grow, over the years to come. They classify their franking machines by three levels of volume, and recommend solutions based upon your individual needs.
- Low Volume – Up to 25 items per day – A cost effective way to manage post for small businesses
- Medium Volume – 26 – 50 items per day – Ease of use for slightly higher postal volumes
- High Volume – 50 items and above – Ideal for large volumes of post, mailshots and invoicing.
All Ashcroft franking machines are available for purchase or lease with flexible leasing options available. On top of this they also offer:
- Free delivery, installation and training
- Free company logo design and return address
- Free starter pack of consumables
- Free Royal Mail Licence
- No re-crediting charges (T’s & C’s Apply)
- Free maintenance for the first year
Providing a personalised post-sales service is a core belief of Ashcroft’s overall offering, which is particularly important for a franking machine, a piece of equipment that effectively prints money. Consideration of the post-sales relationship with a supplier is sometimes forgotten, until the time comes when you need to contact them. Their reputation is for offering a friendly but efficient service, which is one of the reasons why so many companies choose Ashcroft.
20 Years of Excellence
During 2018 Ashcroft Mailing Solutions are celebrating their 20th Anniversary. The company was originally founded by Managing Director George Carrington in 1998 and has since grown to become one of the largest Royal Mail approved suppliers and maintainers of franking machines in the country.
Mr Carrington has been working within the franking machine industry since November 1971, originally working as a sales man for Pitney Bowes. He then went on to progress through the ranks becoming team leader and then on to area manager, winning many awards for him and his team.
After working for Pitney Bowes for many years, Mr Carrington saw the demand for companies wishing to use franking machines increase and in 1991 decided to branch out on his own and bought into the Frama franchise, working under the name of Digital Mailing Solutions Ltd. In 1998 the decision was made to rebrand the company and it officially became Ashcroft Mailing Solutions Ltd.
Ashcroft Mailing worked alongside Frama for 13 years, however due to technology advancing, in 2006 the decision was made to change supplier and they partnered with Pitney Bowes who were able to offer a more extensive range of equipment and a better pricing structure. Since then, Ashcroft’s customer base increased dramatically, which meant a bigger workforce was needed and a bigger office. So in 2008, Ashcroft moved in to their new premises at Kinwarton House in Alcester.
Despite the progression of emails and social media, the demand for franking machines has remained high and as technology has advanced so has franking, with the introduction of Mailmark in 2014 as well as the advancement of digital machines which are LAN enabled. This has made it possible for Ashcroft to build an extensive and ever growing list of clients, winning many major contracts when up against well-known manufacturers and other independent dealers.
As well as franking machines, Ashcroft also supply folder inserters, letter openers and consumables. More recently they have extended the business by offering photocopiers and print solutions to their customers and have recently partnered with Bluefish Office Supplies to offer customers a one stop shop for all of their office supplies.
Reflecting on the past 20 years Mr Carrington says “I am privileged to have one of the best teams anybody could wish to work with, their loyalty and hard work has made the company what it is today and this coupled up with some of the best customers around makes for a very good combination. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Ashcroft as I believe there could be some very exciting times ahead!”
